Following the restructuring of the Karnali Province ministries in 2078, responsibilities related to physical infrastructure, transportation, and urban development were assigned to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Urban Development. According to the revised work division of 2078/09/13, this ministry oversees provincial roads, transportation, housing, office construction, and urban development plans, along with monitoring, evaluation, coordination, and research.
The Infrastructure Development Office, Rukum, operates road projects, multi-year plans, bridges, the People’s Housing Program, and building works in Rukum District. It is one of the ten Infrastructure Development Offices established across Karnali Province.
